today was a Good day!

nothing crazy happened - outside of being showered with attention from the person I would have died to notice me a few months ago. life is strange! Grey's Anatomy was REALLY good tonite. I woman found out her husband not only lost his job 8 months prior to their visit to Seattle Grace, but he phucked her bff too! She was hurt - to say the least - and asked one of the guys at the hospital why men cheat. The answer was surprising and left me speechless
He said something along the lines of:
'...maybe he felt low... and he didn't want you to see him that way...'

Interesting.

In other news, my asthma is getting better! Today was my last day of steroids - YAY - and I found a pretty dope application for my iPhone called Asthma-Charter. You enter all your personal info - i.e. height, weight, sex, etc. - and anytime you test your peak flow, you enter it into your iPhone. The app keeps a really cool log/chart that you can even email to your doctor! Pretty cool, huh?

The Boys of Baraka

This is an EXCELLENT film! There is a lot to be said about our country and the way we care for our children. We have a job to do. I haven't a clue what I'm gonna do but I feel like I need to help. These kids are just KIDS and they need attention.
What I learned from this film is when young men are angry and they don't understand their anger, everything defaults to primal - i.e. ego & pride.
It's our job to help these young boys become men. We don't have to go to Baltimore, we can start right outside our doors.
I'm going to make a conscious effort to talk to these young men, when they are doing wrong and especially when they are doing something good.

PRAISE DA LAWD!!!

It only took 5 months or so but after spending approximately 24 hours with my good friend Cuddle Fish - lol - I gotta tell ya, I feel like my old self again :) We talked and talked, laughed, walked and bonded. It isn't everyday that someone's presents can lift your spirits and inspire you to be a better you.

I got a chance to peep the new Madlib *sigh*
this man is simply amazing. One day, I will attempt to express what I see/feel when listening to his music... chances are, I'll lose the ability to speak like I always do when in his presence (so sad) anyway, there's a track on this WLIB album called 'the Yo-Yo Affair' and I think it explains theCuddleFish phenomenon perfectly!

October 14th is the official release date (thanks for the most best-est birthday gift Stones Throw!) and I will def be coppin' this one on vinyl!
